We are located on a 2000 hectare Bushveld property, owned by the Sandford community trust. Horse Whispers is a company that offers a wide variety of horse trails. The well-being and future of these horses is dependent on the income from horse trails and donations. Most of these horses came from foster homes and were field horses fairly familiar to human interaction, some did not trust humans at all and others had no understanding of personal space. The training of these horses consisted of halter work, trusting and respecting humans, desensitization exercises, groundwork, preparing for a rider, backing and riding away with a safe, confident horse! Today, these horses able to play a significant role in brighting the lives of underprivileged children. The program teach more than just riding; children develop life skills such as self-confidence, responsibility and discipline – and can have a positive impact on academic performance too. Join us for an unforgettable horse riding experience through the Hazyview bushveld with an en-route stop to meet 6 majestic African Elephants.Or go on a breathtaking ride alongside the river and through the hills leads to an idyllic picnic site in a secluded valley. Enjoy your lunch in the shaded canopy provided by the indigenous Matumi trees. Participate in a cattle drive which is a cattle round up on the Sandford Reserve, where a small number of cattle are located and gathered and moved to the nearest water source. The cattle are moved at a walk, any faster than a walk and you run the fat off them, most unwelcomed by any farmer. There is some faster work occasionally to retrieve runaways. We also offer 30 min, one hour and two hour bush outrides.

"This was an amazing opportunity to meet and experience the power, majesty and complexity of these amazing animals! A great education precedes hands on encounters with the gentle giants. I chose not to burden the elephant and was delighted to still have time to touch and caress the sweet Tembo. Pictu..."re taking capped off a must see trip to Hazyview. The cost is a tad pricey but please remember these animals are expensive to upkeep so we are merely assisting in the cost!

"A hands-on experience with lots of elephant info. Lovely setting and inspired/passionate owner. So much to learn about elephants and you'll learn it all here. "
"Thank you GAP tours! Juan was a fantastic guide, with a great knowledge of the Park and area and lots of interesting titbits which made the 2 days some of the best I've spent in Mpumalanga. Thanks to Juan I saw animals and birds in the Kruger Park that I've never seen in the "wild" before. Things ..."like the Dwarf Mongoose and White Backed Vultures. His ability to mimic animal calls also made some of the sightings a little more fun. His relaxed demeanour gave us the time to enjoy the stops along the panarama route without feeling like we were being pushed to get to the next stop. Thanks for a fantastic time.
