What I love best about this place is that it is small and pretty informal, so you can get work done very quickly. Some larger archives have switched to what I'm sure are "best practices" in terms of having you put your purse in a locker and having closed stacks so that the staff has to fetch everything for you. I totally understand that that's a security issue, but it is really customer-unfriendly and takes forever because you're constantly waiting around for people to bring you things to look at.
