Things to do in Timisoara - Tourist Places in Timisoara
"This is one of the most interesting museums in Romania. It is situated in the Huniade Square 1, Timisoara. It has several sections: history, national history, art, entography and the village history section. This is also the oldest building in Timisoara. It is easy to find it, and surrounding is int..."eresting to see. Near Museum is Victory Square where you can see representative National Opera House. In front of the museum watch carefully lampposts. YOu will see small lightballs. Also on the side of the main path you will see few lanterns. Timisoara was the first city in Europe illuminated by electric ligt and those lightballs and lanterns are kind of monument.
Museum is under reconstruction at the moment :(

"This is the Catholic Dome. It has nothing to do with any reformed church. The Dome is located in Timişoara, at Piața Unirii.
The cathedral's foundation stone was put on 6 August 1736. It was designed by Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach from Vienna, then Hans Lechner continued the building from 175..."0. It was finished by two architects from Timişoara, Johann Theodor Kostka and Carl Alexander Steinlein in 1774. The Cathedral was built in Austrian baroque style and it was dedicated to Saint George, the dioceses patron saint. The picture located at the high altar was painted by Michelangelo Unterberger, the director of fine arts academy of Vienna, illustrating the patron saint. The side altars were painted by Johann Nepomuk Schöpf in 1772.[1] The precious oil-lamps were made by Josef Moser. The organ was made by Leopold Wegenstein, and it provides an impressive experience for the ears.
