"I visited the Ssese Island with my friends in March and we enjoyed the sunsets at the beaches there. This Island is very quiet and has got a variety of hotels where one can stay."
"I enjoyed staying in the zoo but 1 night would be enough as the bandas are very basic. The bandas are $40 single occupancy or $60 for double.
It was a good experience, the staff were friendly and knowledgable and I could wander around freely and meet some of the monkeys that are free to roam aro..."und. The bandas are right next to the giraffe enclosure and that was lovely. It's very strange going to sleep at night to the sounds of lions roaring, chimps playing and lake Victoria.
If you choose to go out in the evening (Champions League football led me to the hotel up the road) it can be a bit scary walking back through the zoo in the absolute darkness. Definitely take a torch!!
The animals seem very happy as they have plenty of room and vegetation to explore. The rhinos and chimps were fascinating to watch. The chimp keeper was very knowledgable and took a lot of time chatting to me and telling about them all.
