Olappamanna Mana was a cultural university, 65-70 years back. They were feudal lords and were patrons of Kathakali, Veda, Sanskrit and Malayalam. For that matter a lot of writers ware born in this home. The most popular form of Kathakali, born at Olappamanna School of Kathakali was transplanted to Kerala Kalamandalam by famous Malayalam poit Vallathol. Olappamanna Mana is referred in so may English books on Kathakali.
