Located on a picturesque hilltop in Northwest Washington, DC, the Cottage opened to the public in 2008 as a Site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Guided tours of the Cottage offer visitors an intimate, never-before-seen view of Abraham Lincoln’s presidency and family life. Visitors are also welcome to browse exhibit galleries in the Robert H. Smith Visitor Education Center, adjacent to the Cottage. Tickets are required for entry to the Cottage, and advanced ticket purchase is strongly recommended. Weekend tours often sell out completely.
