"The main street of Gdynia - Swietojanska - is filled with houses built in 1920s and 1930s. The architecture of New York and the sea were the sources of the inspiration for the architects. Many of the houses are the pearls of art decó, modernism or pragmatism. The balconies may look like the bridges ..."of the ships or sea waves. The interior of many of the shops or cafees keep up the spirit of the times of the transatlantic cruises. Local tourist information centre offers tours for architecture lovers

"When in Gdynia, do not miss Swietojanska Street. It's one of my favourite streets not only in Gdynia, but also in Poland. My other favourite streets in Gdynia are Starowiejska and 10 Lutego. You can just stroll up and down the Swietojanska, "window shop" or go into different stores and see what's..." available, plus there are cafes, bars, restaurants and other interesting spots. Ice cream in Poland is amazing and there are plenty of places serving it in Gdynia. A must try if you are visiting the Baltic Coast!
