  "I visited the Museum once while on a vacation I spent east of Lofoten (around the Ofoten Fjord, near Narvik) and I had just a couple of hours with me at Svlovær before taking the bus back to Tromsø. Still, the museum is great, there are just so many uniforms, artifacts, explanations about the war in the Lofoten that it is almost hard to get it all... Information is mostly in Norwegian and English but there are also signs in French and German, but this is not systematic. Otherwise, I really loved the part where you see some drawings from Hitler himself, as well as the part on the Gestapo in North-Norway.   "when you arrive at the Hurtigruten quay in Svolvaer you can see a sign for Magic Ice on a warehouse and it doesnt look very impressive, but we took the plunge since we had 30 minutes or so to kill and we are delighted we did - it was actually really good. Walk into reception where you are greeted wi..."th a smile and a fur cape as its about -4C in the main room, pay your fee (which i dont remember being too expensive) and they even give you some gloves so you can hold your ice-glass with a nice drink in it as you wander around. The ice bar itself is pretty cool and most of the sculptures are grand and impressive (fishermen, polar bears etc). It was a pretty unique experience for us and well worth the time to visit. " More >

  "The ice sculptures are impressive and well presented in an atmospheric way. It's located right next to the ferry port and obviously relies heavily on tourists visiting while their ferry is docked for a couple of hours."
