Snuggled in a wooded setting among the rich quiet farmlands of the Golden Vale by the River Maigue, Adare is a model village dating from the time of the Norman conquest. It has been home to the Earls of Dunraven (Quin Family) for over three centuries and is located on the Limerick to Tralee road, the N21, a great pit stop for those on the way to the Ring of Kerry. The Adare Heritage Centre allows you to step back in time through an informative historical exhibition, in the middle of this charming town with its many thatched houses. This reconstruction of Adare’s unique past, from the arrival of the Normans to the foundation of ancient abbeys in the Middle Ages, is also retold in five different languages.

"Adare GC was the first round of a 6 day golf trip to Ireland. We teed off barely 6 hours after landing in Shannon from an all-night flight, so expectations weren't necessarily high. The course did not disappoint - the staff was friendly, the course was in good condition and is plenty challenging, an..."d even the weather wasn't bad (sporadic showers but no wind). The course record was never in danger, but it was a good course and a good round to get our legs back under us and figure out what direction our shots were going to fly.

"This is a beautiful church. The stained glass window behind the main altar is stunning. I missed a service, but the acoustics would lend themselves very well to a classical concert. Lovely to pop into, especially in between our famous Irish "rainshowers"!"
"Cultural Center gives nice history about this region. This is a very quaint city to use as a hub when visiting the western portions of Ireland. My wife and I drove from Dublin for two days exploring small cities and areas. We stayed at Adare Manor. It is the best we have experienced.
During our..." visit we drove to the Cliffs of Moher and through many small picturesque villages along the drive. It is very important to have a GPS or "Nav Sat" as they call it in Ireland.
