Maria's pastry shop has many varieties of marzipan fruits, such an amazing selection - especially the prickly pears. This is a beautiful little town with lots of pastry shops!

"Great pastries and cannoli. We stopped there for dessert after dinner and the staff offered us a table out back to sit end enjoy, since it was a quiet evening. It is usually very crowded because they make the best pastries around the city."
"Since its rather long, quite worth it's cost of 9 Euros :p Great views of the beach/coast and town of Trapani. Take bus 21 or 23 fr Piazza Vittoria Emmanuel (abt 25min ride) and be sure to ask the bus driver where to stop! Returning to the square is from the same stop. Upon arriving atop the hill, u..." are in the town of Erice, a nice medieval city with many alleys and small shops selling local produce. Worth spending abt 3 hrs but don't pay to go into Castello (castle) as it is in ruins and nothing much inside. Do take loads of pictures of the lovely coast...The views at Erice is well worth the trip!

"The Castello di Venere is just one of the attractions in Erice, which is a small medieval town built on a mountain top. There are signposts of suggested walking routes around Erice, which is really a small place, and it would be best to park at a suitable location and follow one of the suggested r..."outes. The castle is found at the south-easternmost point of Erice.
The site around the castle offers fantastic views of Trapani and Marsala. Apparently, the castle is open to visitors at certain times, but was closed when we arrived (as were all the churches and other attractions) in late afternoon. At 700mt above sea level, the area can be quite windy and cold even on a sunny day.
