Welcome to Dingle Horse Riding. Set on the dramatic and beautiful west coast of Ireland, we specialise in two hour to week long riding holidays for experienced riders, taking in all the beauty and exhiliration of the mountains and beaches the Dingle Peninsula has to offer. We also offer one hour mountain rides for novice/beginner riders.Our horses are mostly Irish sporthorses, with some draught, cob and appaloosa, ranging from 14hh to 17hh. We pride ourselves in having happy, well-cared for and well turned out horses, friendly knowledgeable guides and great routes designed for both fantastic riding and views. Beginner/novice riders can only be taken on the 1 hour mountain ride. Only riders intermediate/advanced experienced in the English style of riding, able to post/rising trot and ride two point/forward seat in canter can be taken to the beaches. Riders will be assessed in the arena before leaving the yard, and during the one hour ride. In the interests of safety, and at the discretion of the guide, riders judged to be beginner/novice or inexperienced in an English style of riding will not be taken to the beach.

Closed during winter.The DWSS officially opened its doors to the public in June of 2010 and is working around the clock with a team of hardworking resident volunteers to care for any animal in need in Ireland.The Dingle Wildlife & Seal Sanctuary (DWSS) rescues orphaned, wounded and starving seal pups and releases them back into the wild as soon as they have a clean bill of health. The DWSS provides a west coast home for seals and any wildlife in need, and provides the funds and facilities essential to servicing the needs of the animals, promoting their conservation and protection and developing the harmonious and sustainable ecotourism industry of the area. Set on 22 acres of beautiful lakes and wetlands, the DWSS is an ideal location to visit the Seal Sanctuary, learn about the rehabilitation process and meet the resident rescued seal-pups. Wander along the Nature Trail board walks to enjoy the wildlife. Feed our resident bird collection of Ducks, Geese, Swans and Peacocks or play with one of our adorable Kid Goats. We have a stunning children’s adventure playground featuring a large wooden castle, a bouncy castle and a fantastic climbing frame. Enjoy a relaxing paddle around our beautiful lakes on one of our pedalo boats. It is one of the largest public gardens in the country, nestled in a beautiful valley between the village of Stradbally, Co. Laois and the town of Athy, Co. Kildare, and just 50 minutes from Dublin by motorway via the M50 at the Red Cow. Take a day off and relax completely in this little pocket of Irish countryside.When you visit, we will urge you to relax completely, and savour what lies ahead. During the few hours you spend with us we will attempt to delight you, provoke you, frustrate you and enchant you. This is an experience of the senses – your sight, your hearing, your sense of smell, touch and even taste.Ballintubbert is a garden, a work of art, in the making. The historic garden is with us since 1850, and it has been expanded over the last ten years. It is not fully made yet, nor can it be. Nature will take her own sweet time. While the mind of man can attempt to impose artifice, ground will only settle to horticulture when it is ready, and plants take years to become sturdy and strong.The great joy of seeing a garden in the making, however, is that you see the process of the making of art in dynamic form. The greatest gardens in the world – Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Hidcote Park, Giverny amongst so many others – took years to make. Today, they are a testament to the imagination and mad dreams of their makers. But those makers have passed now to the potting shed in the sky, and can no longer describe the way in which such art came to be. This is what makes Ballintubbert different – it is young, it is alive, aware of its shortcomings and of its triumphs, endlessly embracing change.
