There are images that fill our imagination. Certainly, lying on a deck chair on a deserted island with a cocktail in your hand is an experience that is part of your dreams. As such, Animaris invites you to turn that dream into reality. The Desert Island, in Faro, is one of the islands that protects the Ria Formosa from the impact of the ocean. It is one of the greatest natural treasures of the Algarve that has been maintained in its purest and wildeststate. It has an extension of 11 km of white sand and the only relevant building built is the Estaminé Restaurant. The warm and crystal clear waters invite you for a dip. Take the time to relax and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds the conceded area on the beach to Animaris who also provide deck chairs and awnings for your comfort. Away from the hustle and bustle that characterizes the Algarvian beaches during the bathing seasons; on the Desert Island you will always find the space and tranquillity to enjoy your privacy. The practise of non-motorized nautical sports and the wooden gangway around the Island that leads up to the southernmost point of Portugal (Cape of Santa Maria) are other options that we offer our visitors. We recommend that you start your day with a boat tour through the Ria Formosa channels. When you arrive at the Ilha Deserta settle in comfortably under the shade of an awning and enjoy the beach. At lunch time delight yourself with grilled scaled bass accompanied by a magnificent Algarvian wine at the Estaminé Restaurant. Save some time to try out the nautical sports that we have for you.

"Just returned from a sun soaked 3rd trip to Vilamoura. First time playing Vale Do Lobo and after other reading other reviews we decided to play the Ocean course twice and Royal once as part of a 3 round package and i'm glad we did. The Ocean after a very different mix of holes on the 1st nine, open'..."s up to be an amazing 2nd nine with views and layout of holes which are a pleasure on the eye, Wide fairways allows you to really open up your shoulders and if your wide off the tee you have a 2nd shot to get back on course. Greens are very fast and white sand bunkers make for an enjoyable round regardless of score!. The Royal in comparison is ok but as many have said it's disjointed with the amount of walking between some tees, works and drainage going on around the lake area made the views poor, the 16th i don't know what the Fuss looks better in photo's overall but would still rate it as worth playing in a package of 3 just make sure you play Ocean twice.

"We were transferred from our hotel in Quarteria which took around 45 minutes. When we initially walked through the door and down to the exotic animals we were a little dissappointed and thought what are we going to do for a full day!
However, there are lots of things to do and for the price you..." pay to get in everything is very resonable, including the price of food!
My little girl had a go on the pedal carts and on the quad bikes, which were €2 a go, we paid for her to go on the pony ride (again €2) but she decided at the last minute that she did not want to go on it! The guy was very nice and told us to hold on to the ticket and if she changed her mind then she could go on later in the day!!
We bought food for the farm animals (€1) which she loved feeding!!!!
There is a bouncy castle there too, which she had the time of her life on!!
At around 1pm there is the animal talk, which is very informative, interesting and most of all fun!! The goats make the talker look sil...

"We've just returned from a week staying in a beautiful private villa in Vale do Lobo - booked via Sun Hat Villas. The weather wasn't perfect blue sky all week, but it was actually fine for a holiday with small children who can't be in the sun all day anyway.
Vale do Lobo is a pristine, clean and ..."safe resort. Not very authentic if you're looking for a little corner of Portugal! But the beach is beautiful, as are the cliffs, and it's very pleasant to wander around the resort and marvel at the stunning villas overlooking the golf courses.
It's not a cheap holiday if you want to eat out most days. And apparently the golf is pretty expensive too. But our family-friendly villa had everything we needed to self-cater half the time. And restaurant options are limited if you go in the low season - most of the restaurants in La Praca (the main beachside mall of bars & restaurants) weren't open when we visited, and dining at the same restaurant more than a couple of times wasn't ideal.
