If you are looking for something special in a vacation, consider Lake Como. We stayed in Hotel Metropole Suisse on the waterfront piazza and were very pleased with our room and meals.   "First time we got off the train from Milan and headed right away towards the Funicolare the mini train that takes you right up on the steep hill with amazing view. I have to say that the weather changes it all. The view was stunning and we could plan the way down with our bikes just from looking dow..."n. Check out the Torre in honor of Mr Volta. Got some tips and off we went down this ancient road "strada regia" just a few inches wide!!! most dangerous road i did on a bike, what a thrill!!. Got down to Torno and got the Ferry to Villa d'Este in Bellaggio. There believe or not we rented a speed boat and off to the other part of the Lake where the sun was. What a ride!! Then biked to the town and stopped to see the planes landing on the Lake and going into the hangar what fun. At this point we started biking along the lake, some area under contruction :(( but still amazing. The Duomo and the squares were packed with locals and we enjoyed some people whatching and checking out the good ... " More >
