Things to do in Riomaggiore - Tourist Places in Riomaggiore
"We took a day tour there. We walked & walked & walked some more, then we took a train to the next village. There are five villages as the name implies. These are picture perfect villages. You will walk along cliffs overlooking the sea, but also each village will have it's own atmosphere but still..." more or less the same.It is true alot of walking up and up and around. Climbing up stairs or ramps makes breathing hard for me but I took alot of stops and did ok. You really do not want to miss this. We were here in May 2013 and in Fall of 2012 they had a flood. I saw it on the internet-more like a title wave. So Rick Steves and others really in my opinion pushed the Cinque Terre. Just about all (4) the villages were up and going except one. I forget which one though but it was amazing to see the water levels marked on outside walls and the still damaged buildings with workers rebuilding. There were alot of lost lifes. Certainly happy we did, and very happy to have spent the time with Pall. One of our trip highlights.

If we had tried this journey on our own, we would not have seen the poorly marked trails which we did that afforded some trip-defining, incredible photo opportunities that blow away postcards that we would see later in souvenir shops.

"we had a great day trekking with pall who took us through the villages of cinque terre. it was an incredible hike on paths we NEVER would have found alone. he knows so many of the locals, has all kinds of facts on the area and was a great tour guide. i really recommend doing his hike- you wont be..." disappointed.
