  "The hike from Monterosso to Vernazza is the toughest part of the blue trail section and worth every minute of the 90+ minutes that this hike will take you. Especially rewarding are the views back to Monterosso and the views of Vernazza from the footpath. Whilst one can get to Vernazza from Monteross..."o by train and ferry (we would suggest the ferry over the train any day), the view of Vernazza is best from the footpath. If you are short of time or you don't wish to hike to Vernazza, we would suggest the ferry to Vernazza, and then a walk up the path (towards Monterosso), until you can capture an awesome photo of Vernazza. Do not miss out on this. Ok. I have read the reviews and done many hikes in my time. I would suggest the following. Walk in good shoes (as opposed to flip flops) and take plenty of water - and possibly a hat. Otherwise, take it slow and stop when you feel tired.
