Amazonia - the world's largest 360° panorama - Asisi Panometer LeipzigTrees growing high up into the sky, long trailing roots which seem to hang down from nowhere, a green half-light and a concert made up of the many thousands of voices of all the animals living here. On a scale of 1:1, around 106 metres long and 30 metres high, Amazonia reveals the complexity and beauty of the faraway Brazilian Rainforest.

One of the most moving cold war exhibitions around. There is real immediacy about the exhibition as it is in the quarters of the stasi. The equipment and rooms is still...

"This is a FREE "must see- " when visiting Leipzig. There are actual letters, photographs and an extensive collection of spying equipment used in the Cold War. It was amazing to see how many ways the people of East Germany were spied upon, mostly innocent people, and the paranoia it must have ca..."used. You can get a lot out of the exhibition for free, if you can read German, and there are audio guides in other languages available for 3 Euro at the front entrance if you go in the door on the right at the top of the stairs, before entering on the left. The Stazi myuseum is located centrally , just behind the Thomaskirch.
Well worth the visit.

"The pillars inside have large palm leaves on top. There is a similar pillar just outside in teh square representing the place where thousands, 70,000 people in fact walked in silent protest during the Cold War. It was very cathartic, to know that so many people helped to bring down the Soviet suppr..."ession, right here in Leipzig- formerly East Germany.

"We attended a Motet on a Saturday that lasted about an hour. We were able to see the church inside, that J S Bach was cantor in in the 1700's. We heard the boys choir that has been oing since 1212, and Bach conducted them in the 1700's! We were there for Bachfest and the men's choir from the Sis..."tine Chapel in Rome as well as the Leipzig Symphony orchestra played. It was absolutely amazing. Bach's bones are buried inside and there is a big brass plaque on the floor covering them, covered in flowers. It was the highlight of our trip to Leipzig!!!
