More than five million people emigrated to the New World via the Port of Hamburg between 1850 and 1934. The stories of their lives are brought to life at BallinStadt. Historical exhibits, multimedia stations, the backdrop of a bustling market in the New York of the 1920s, and much more will make this a breath-taking journey for visitors.

"I am a model train enthusiast and had read about Miniatur Wunderland. So my wife and I made a special trip to Hamburg from London just to see this site. We have visited model railroads from San Diego, California, to London. Nothing I have seen compares with this. It is fantastic! It was everyth..."ing I anticipated and more. The detail and functionality are incredible. Almost a quarter of a million figurines! The "behind the scenes tour" (in English) was the highlight. We spent almost all day, until my brain was mush, and then I came back a second day. And it is a bargin. Don't miss this. We did schedule our visit when it was not too crowded, and for that I am thankful.

"It is a vast gallery with lots of famous artists from Rembrandt to V.Kandinski. Very enjoyable time spent there and I practicable had the building to myself."
