Beaulieu is a C17th unfortified house, built by the Titchburnes and still lived in by descendants of this family. 400 years of family history entwine with local historical events, including the Flight of the Earls, the Siege of Drogheda and the Battle of the Boyne. A walled garden, with borders and symmetrical gravel paths, dating from the early C18th, is especially lovely to walk round May-September.

A beautiful and unique place to visit for those with a love of art or history. The gallery is sited in the former Drogheda Franciscan Church and part of the Friary; known locally as the ‘High Lane Church’. The Franciscans gifted the property to the people of Drogheda when they ended their 760 year association with the town in 2000. The buildings date from the early 19th century, though elements date back to earlier times.

"I am not sure what is worsehere...rating a church or going into one to photograph an actual head of a man decaptiated for his faith. Oh well...if you're here, pop in and see this. Not sure I have seen one in such good shape before. ( ok..that does sound a little creepy...I hear it now.)
I hope..." this review helps!

"Forget the Pyramids, this is the oldest building in the world. There is a great museum telling the story of this "passage grave" and others nearby. Going inside and experiencing the building techniques of these stone age people and their scientific knowledge is amazing. Get there early in the day an..."d be prepared to spend three hours there. Don't go inside the tomb if you're claustrophobic.
