Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer park lays one of Britain’s best-kept secrets. Virtually hidden from the road, and largely unaltered in the last century, this lovely 30 acre Victorian paradise, belonging to the Berkeley’s for over 400 years (whose other home is Berkeley Castle) has been lovingly created by successive generations of the Berkeley family and boasts an enviable collection of plant treasures from every corner of the globe.

"This was our first visit to this National Trust property as we were in the area and we will definately go again when next in the area. The house is lovely on the outside and the inside is impressive especially the staircase wall paintings by Sir James Thornhill. Lots to see and try to take in. Th..."e gardens (Parterre) in front of the house were very colourful and well laid out. The main grounds include a fruit garden, wilderness area, grove, bowling green (bowls can be played if you wish), orchard, orangery lawn with Orangery, cedar walk and a lovely walled garden. There is an ice house and a mushroom house to visit as well. Tea room and toilets are close to the house. The parkland walks are well marked and involve walking through fields of sheep and lambs. The path to Hanbury Church is through fields and takes about 15 minutes to walk but you can get there by car if you don't fancy the walk. The church is worth a visit and there are lovely views of the Malverns from the graveya...

"Thanks again Nat Trust for serving up a real surprise [ a fantastic one ].. yes, he was eccentric I suppose, but I feel that he was short of being a full quid actually !.. but we are lucky to get an insight into the mind of a intriguing personality thanks to the National Trust. We feel that they h..."ave left the estate in a perfect condition and helps us to understand the period better. [ and just how cold it must have been in some of these old properties of the time !] Lots of established fruit trees and extensive vegie gardens too, so they must have been self sufficient also. Great place; try not to miss it.

"This birthplace museum of the great English composer of Sir Edward Elgar is packed full of Elgar's possessions and memories. The shop area is superb with a great choice of CDs, DVDs, books, cards and gifts. For classical music fans on a tight schedule one could easily combine this with the Holst Birt..."hplace Museum at Cheltenham in a single day without any trouble, where you can see the piano where Gustav Holst wrote his famous Planets Suite.
