If you’re looking for a fantastic FREE day out for all the family, you can’t beat Coventry Transport Museum. In the heart of Coventry city centre, this huge Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of British road transport, and a visit whisks you away into a world of stories of real people, real passions and real hope. You’ll discover the stories behind the people who made Coventry the centre of the world’s motor and cycle industries, and get up close and personal with the actual vehicles that defined some of history’s most important moments. The Museum is laid out as a journey through time – you’ll wander 19th Century streets and discover the first bicycles, carriages and cars, then explore the first car factories and gasp as you witness their wartime destruction in the Blitz Experience. The journey continues through the Boomtown, Spirit of Speed and Ghost Town galleries to bring you right up to the present day.A visit to the Museum brings you face to face with Royal cars, military vehicles, and cars that played vital parts in their drivers’ life stories – none more so than the current Land Speed Record holding vehicle, ThrustSSC, which lives at the Museum. Not only can you marvel at this spectacular piece of British engineering, you can experience for yourself what it’s like to travel through the sound barrier at over 760mph in the ThrustSSC Simulator.

FSM is delighted to offer you a thrilling experience on board a real B737-800 motion simulator or a Boeing 747-400 Jumbo Jet simulator with simulated motion. Both are fitted with the latest Glass Cockpit Instrumentation (PFD/ND or EFIS). Fly the mountains around Salzburg or the waterways of Hong Kong. These simulators have trained thousands of professional pilots over the years. (They are not replica simulators like many on offer). Now it's your turn to sit where they did and learn the tricks of the trade. Welcome on board. Captain Chris Rigby (Chief Pilot FSM)

St. Mary’s Guildhall is one of the finest surviving medieval guildhalls in England, and has been one of Coventry's premier historic venues for more than 600 years. First built in the 1340s for the merchant guild of St. Mary, with its magnificent medieval interiors, and fine artworks the Guildhall offers a window into Coventry's glorious past. Once a prison to Mary, Queen of Scots, and even a playhouse where Shakespeare is thought to have performed, the Guildhall provides a fascinating free experience for all ages, at the historic heart of the city. St. Mary's Guildhall is available for weddings, meetings, conferences and private functions, whilst in the vaulted undercroft beneath St. Mary's Guildhall is the atmospheric Godiva's cafe, offering tasty snacks and refreshments.

"Having visited this museum many times as a child and now taking my Nephew several times a year, it never gets old. Although I don't have an awful lot of knowledge when it comes to War time aircraft, nor am I an aircraft enthusiast, I'm still always guaranteed to have an excellent couple of hours her..."e. Sunday just gone I took my Nephew again (it never gets old for him) and my Dad came with us also (it had been many many years since his last visit) and we had a blast. It was very busy (we had some decent weather for a change) which was nice to see. My nephew sat in the Vulcan for the first time (he is only just 4 and previously was too scared to go up the ladders into the "dark" cockpit) but he braved it and loved it. The gentleman who gives the talk inside the Vulcan had flown in this aircraft many times and is able to give you a true account of his experiences - very interesting and a MUST for anyone, enthusiast or not!!! We also found another gentleman (one of the volunteers) and we a...

"It's to my shame that even as a permanent resident of Coventry that I don't visit the Herbert often enough - and up until recently hadn't been in for many years. However, I paid a visit last weekend for the "Caught in the crossfire" exhibition - a selection of pieces on the theme of war, peace and r..."econciliation. That was both awe-inspiring and touching but the rest of the exhibitions in the Herbert are equally worth your time. An excellent way to spend a couple of hours and best of all - it's absolutely free. Although to keep facilities like this free for all time and available to all, it goes without saying it's worthy of a donation.

"We regularly visit this park and we love it, a great place to walk your dog!
I also like the hotel and the hotel gardens and everything about it. It is best to visit during week days as it is not crowded.
There is a parking fee unfortunately - but at least there is no entrance fee.
I plan a..." barbecue here- hopefully I will get the chance; there is a special area designed for barbecues which is great!!
