"We had visited The New Bield about 25 years ago, when it was basically a project waiting to happen. Now that much work has been carried out it is easy to see and appreciate what must be one of our earliest landscaping treasures. There is good parking when you arrive (previously it was a very long ..."walk!) and there is a knowledgable team to welcome you. I highly recommend the complimentary audio guide. Together with a plan of the area you get an excellent insight into how the unfinished New Bield was conceived and laid out. The National Trust have made this a very worthwhile attraction.

"Visited on the recommendation of a friend. Enjoyed mooching. Loved the cooks' shop. Made some useful purchases for gifts. Enjoyed earring at the cafe/restaurant. No chips. Plenty of other good choices. Will return. "
"Garden & lodge created by Sir Thomas Tresham 1595. His son was involved in The Gun Powder Plot. As a consequence the family lost their fortune. Fascinating building with an equally fascinating history. Beautifully restored gardens, heritage orchards, terraces, moats and viewing mounds. Another Natio..."nal Trust site ,definitely worth a visit.
