The Stratford Festival is a repertory theatre festival, permanently located in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to produce, to the highest standards possible, the best works of theatre in the classical and contemporary repertoire, with special emphasis on the works of William Shakespeare.A national institution of international renown, the Festival is committed to maintaining and promoting the highest level of artistic excellence, to cultivating the widest possible audience and to providing theatre-related education and training for Canadian artists. In our creative exploration of the great works of the dramatic imagination, we aim to rediscover and reinvent those works for each new age, in order that they may continue to entertain, enlighten and inspire audiences of all ages and origins.

"Loved the ease of booking both Theatre and Parking via the web. Watch out for special promos like the one April Fools day this year that allowed us to get very cheap tix for a number of plays.
We saw Fiddler which was outstanding, (5 Stars) and Musketeers which did not hold my attention with fre..."netic staging, fights that were clearly stage fights and ultimately uninspiring and a terrible Cardinal Richelieu and other characters who were less well portrayed. The pro reviews seem to agree with this assessment. So book and do go. Grab a meal (see my reviews of Pazzo, Monforte on Wellington and Balzacs, tho there are lots of places) or maybe consider a picnic by the water on a sunny day. A great days outing.
Also to note is that the Festival runs one and two week Shakespeare workshops for teens and both my kids profited greatly from the experience (each doing one week first and then a two week stint.)

"We took in four shows in two days and all were superior. Fiddler on the Roof was outstanding and plaudits go to veteran Scott Wentworth for his portrayal of Tevya. Waiting for Godot was excellent as were Blithe Spirit and the Cynthia Dale concert/show in the Studio Theater"
