"We went by small cruise ship designed for the Arctic to several places on Baffin Island.
It was a memorable trip. Initially I raised my eyebrows as the cost was high, but it turned out to be a great experience.

We crossed the Davis Stait and arrived on Baffin Island by Pangnirtung followed by Savage Islands where we watched the polar bears on shore from our Zodiacs, Lake Harbour (or Kimmirut), Cape Dorset (or Kinngait) on Baffin Island where we visited Malikjuaq Territorial Park with archeological sites dating hundreds of years.
The next stop was Douglas point on the north shore of Quebec for a nature hike, and a final stop in Frobisher Bay (now Iqualuit, the capital on Nunavut) wher we saw the amazing interior of the Legislative Assembly.

"I did Auyuittuq in July/Aug 2011. This is easily the best hike of my life. Pure wilderness, absolute solitude. I spent 8 days in the park and those were indeed one of the most memorable days of my life. If you want to experience this park in its entirety - do the full Akshayuk pass from North to Sou..."th (Total of 100Kms over 7-8 days). I could not attempt the full pass this time but intend to do it in future.
A 'must do' - if you have the resources and are fit enough. Dont miss it.
