"My wife and I are in our mid-60's and flatlanders and wanted to see Observation Point but not sure we could have made the ascent. We hired a shuttle to take us to the head of the East Mesa trail which I would recommend to anyone.
Note here: Drivers let us out about a quarter of a mile from tr..."ail head without real good instructions. At the end of the dirt road, we ran into a fence and were worried before my wife spotted an opening which led to a sign for East Mesa.
Additionally, did not realize hike up from here would be so long...probably about 3-3.5 miles which was quite pleasant through the trees. Never saw another person. Finally connect with last part of OP trail. While relatively easy, certainly not for those not used to walking six miles back to trail head. End of trail had a little up and down.
View, as stated by others, is absolutely fantastic. Not sure what one posters concern was with the chipmonks, but they are there wanting a handout. Please do not feed....

"My wife and I walked the Angels' Landing Trail from The Grotto as far as Scout's Lookout in May 2013. When we got to Scout's Lookout, we decided that discretion was the better part of valour (we are both seniors) and so we did not complete the final part of the trail to Angel's Landing. However th..."e trail to Scout's Lookout was absolutely beautiful and gave us excellent views down into the main valley below. This was a wonderful walk, in wonderful scenery, in wonderful weather.

"The shuttle buses in Zion National Park are an excellent and well-run transport system. We never had to wait more than a few minutes and the Zion shuttle system was very impressive indeed."
