The hike was great. Going in early March, I knew I was going to get either bibs or a full dry suit. I'm very pleased I went with the full suit. On March 8, there were multiple spots where the water was collar-bone high on me, and one where I wasn't touching bottom, and I'm 6' tall. I stayed mostly dry, though, and I was able to go a full mile further than anyone else I saw on the trail that day, thanks to the suit. I got the suit at Zion Adventures Co. The other outfitters didn't advertise them. Your trip up will take twice as long as your trip back, so consider that when planning your day.

It was as fantastic as can be. Stunning views. Be sure to enter the lottery. I was subject to the day-before system and got lucky on the first try. My hike was in the morning, so it was a bit cooler, but the body heat jumped quickly. There are some very steep switchbacks that get the heart racing. My biggest tip would be to GO EARLY in the morning. Get the before 9am timeslot if you can. I'm thankful I did. When I was going up, I had to contend with very few people already coming down from being at the top. When I was on my way down, there were a lot of others doing the same, AND there were just as many people, if not more, trying to hike up. This caused traffic jams. Trust me...you'll enjoy it much more with fewer people.

Wow! Amazing views and beautiful hikes! The shuttle system is about the only way to travel- and it’s not efficient.- it wasn’t even busy season! They recently transitioned to electric buses. The park doesn’t have enough shuttles running- mid week! And per the drivers they don’t have enough charging stations and therefore, not enough buses running for the # of guests! You have to wait at least an hour to get a shuttle and again, that’s the only way to get to the hikes (unless you’re staying at the lodge.). But besides the shuttles- it’s majestic! Just be patient!

Zion was very impressive. We went at a good time of year. Weather was perfect and not crowed at all.

This is a relatively flat and simple hike that has a fantastic payoff! We are not the youngest anymore but do like the outdoors and hiking. This trail is fairly level (slight elevation gain) and not too long or challenging however, the payoff at the end is fantastic!

We have hiked this the hard way in the past [now inaccessible] and have also done the easier way that is now the only option. The view from the top always takes my breath away. Only the Grand Canyon south rim and parts of Yosemite compares to this view. We heard the parking lot at the trailhead filled up from early morning so nearly didn’t bother. We went on a Monday and arrived about 3pm - there was one car in the parking lot and we passed a couple of people on the way out but had the place to ourselves at the top and we were there half an hour. It is the best view in the park, possibly in the whole area, if you’ve never been you should take a look.

I jut want to clarify that there are three different, main hikes located in the Kolob Canyons area with varying degrees of difficulty and length. All with different trailhead locations.

Timber Creek Overlook Trail (0.5 hour 1 mi)
Follows a ridge to views of Timber Creek, Kolob Terrace, and the Pine Valley Mountains. At the end of Kolob Canyons Road

Taylor Creek Trail (3.5 hours / 5.0 mi)
Maximum 12 people per group. Follows the Middle Fork of Taylor Creek past two homestead cabins to Double Arch Alcove. Off of Kolob Canyons Road.

Kolob Arch via La Verkin Creek Trail (8 hours /14 mi)
Maximum 12 people per group. Trail follows Timber and La Verkin Creek. A
side trail leads to Kolob Arch. T

Route 9 is a beautiful scenic byway. It is a great alternative to taking the highway (rt 15) and takes you through Mt Zion Park.

Note that your map app may call it a toll road because you are required to pay for admission to the park. If you have an annual interagency pass (or a Veteran's pass or others), you can use it for free.

It is a curving, winding road with a long tunnel (and a shorter tunnel) with major changes in elevation and beautiful, magnificent views. I found it great fun to drive, but make sure you know what to expect!

What a pleasant way to tour the Zion Canyon without having to fool with vehicle traffic. I suggest taking the shuttle all the way the initial time and use that first trip to plan what you want to see and what trails you may want to travel. It is wonderful to hop on and off at different locations. The total trip goes faster than you would think.

Yes, Angel's Landing and the Narrows get the hype, but it is the canyon that you come to see in Zion National Park. It is unlike other canyons in the National Park system in some many ways that it makes Zion special. The thing you will notice here first compared to so many other canyons is the green vegetation and the way the colors contrast against each other. Other canyons are grey or red with much less vegetation. However, the most significant difference is you experience Zion from the bottom looking up as opposed to all the others like Grand Canyon, Canyonlands or the Black Canyon where you are above looking down. The beauty and perspective have so much to do with creating one of the most amazing natural locations within the US or for that matter the world. It is something you have to experience, and I highly recommend.

Beautiful, easy to follow Walk from the Temples of Sinawava Bus Stop, this is a lovely walk along the Virgin River until you get to the Narrows where you have the choice of wading through the river to continue or turn around.

It's flat, but because of it's ease and viewing pleasure it does get very busy, so my suggestion would be to go early or late in the day to spend less time people dodging.

Nice trail. It was busy on a holiday. Beautiful views. Moderately strenuous for a short section. Didn't have time to go all the way but the views are nice even just doing 1.5 miles.
