Dvorets Pionerov (Palace of Pioneers) park was originally designed as a place of memorial for the fallen WWII soldiers. Its square is 22 hectares (2,368,060.29 sq feet) and perimeter approximately 1.8 km. The project of the park was conceived in 1968 to be officially open for public in 1974. The territory is divided by several alleys, the main one being the Alley of Glory whose trees were planted back in the days by WWII veterans, acclaimed school teachers and pioneers themselves. The main building of Dvorets Pionerov is to this day a home for various children's extra curricular activities and classes. The park is located in a residential area of Kirov and is visited by thousands kids and parents daily. Its favored by local runners and hosts sport events such as X-Kirov Cup bicycle race.

The construction of the church began in 1714 and was completed in 1723. This is a unique piece of stone architecture of XVIII, not very common for the area during the reign of Peter the Great. In late 1960s, the Soviet state appropriated the building as a local planetarium. In 1994 it was returned to the Russian Orthodox Diocese.
