It is certainly challenging but very rewarding and we'd highly recommend it to visitors with a decent level of fitness. Wear good footwear (a little too much walking for average reef shoes - we'd say take runners/joggers and a day pack with your lunch, water and insect repellent etc). " More >

It had rained the night before we did the trek so the walking between villages and to the cave itself was VERY muddy and slippery - good shoes a must but be prepared to have them completely covered in mud. You get life jackets and torches to go through t..."he cave itself and it is a wonderful experience - the cave is massive!! Not many places you could experience this. Then you have lunch and canyon through the rest of the gorge which is gorgeous. The sun streaming through, the waterfalls along the way. It is a great day and the guides are all locals who speak English and French, keep you safe and take it seriously. You do need some kind of basic fitness and nimbleness as there is a lot of crawling through spaces and over rocks etc. Take a good lunch and snacks and water!
