"second time back - mid spring and still had 25cm plus of powder in the three nights we stayed!
also sunny days and well serviced slopes - transport to the other resorts and easy access to quality lessons"
"7 trips now to Niseko and number 8 already planned. Unbeatable snow - been to Canada, USA and Europe to compare. Large variety of accommodation from ski-in/ski-out to cheap pensions to luxury lodges. The on mountain infrastructure is steadily being upgraded eg new gondola in Hirafu, new mountain base..."s in Hanazono and Hirafu and the Hirafu-Zaka redevelopment.
If you aren't challenged by the skiing there then you need to get a guide and get into the trees and side country. If that doesn't challenge you then you need to go find a helicopter in AK. The groomed runs get chopped up because most days they will have a layer of fresh snow on top of the grooming and it can get pushed around. Get out early if you want untouched coudroy. If all you want to ski is groomed runs all day long, go somewhere it doesn't snow as much.
