It's a beautiful place, but you don't have many things to do there, it would appear that you and your kids can stay all day, but you wouldn't like to because it is boring . All the rooms of the museum are tastefully decorated with paintings and sculptures. And the museum has place where children can play.

Quite interesting atraction for kids, especialy if they know and like sitio do picapau amarelo. The place is not very well maintained but the personnel there is great. Kids will enjoy staying there for a couple of hours where they can play around the museum, participate in some handcraft activities inside the museum, and watch the theater outdoors.

Monteiro Lobato is a very important writer in Brazil. But, unfortunately, the city of Taubaté do not preserve his home, wich is the museum, and they do not make anything interesting for children to keep in mind his books and stories. It is a pitty. Do not waste your time and money.

The museum is a little house with a little library, stuff about Carnival and the autor's life and a backyard. It's inside a kind of a park where there're statues of his characters. The museum is very bad conserved. The only thing there is the play about Sitio. Nothing else to do or see. What a pitty... this place should be so much explored...
