It is definitely worth a visit if you're staying in Beijing. Our lonely planet guide indicated a place from a metro station to get the 919 bus that brings you directly to the Badaling secrion of the Wall so we followed its indications. The price was quite low dpfor the hour-long trip. But on the way, there's a real tourist... More

Whatever you hear and read of Great wall is never equal to what you see of it , a must in a lifetime experience, if you are staying in China definitely one visit cannot be enough , the weather usually is amazing , there is a cable car ride that takes you up , and then you can buy separate... More

This is the "Short" walk and not worth doing. You take the cable train up and walk back to the starting point of the train. It is over crowded, too much junk dealers and nothing to see. This is only nice of you like to buy a T Shirt that says... "I climb the Great Wall" Better go left and... More

My husband and I went there with tourist guide arranged by our hotel. If u used tourist guide, it is a must (enforced by government) to stop at their designated tourist venue. In my case, the chinese medical centre & jade centre. After that, we finally arrived at Badaling Great Wall. It was a bright sunny day but windy &... More

I took my parents, along with a guide to the Badling section of The Great Wall and was disappointed at how touristy it is. Yes, the Wall is a magnificent structure but with KFC, Subway and various coffee shops, tat shops and eateries along the way, along with being packed with tourists, I was a bit dismayed at how commercial... It was snowy when we visited Badaling Great Wall on March 2012. A lot of tourists were there in buses. Restaurants and souvenir stores are located near the parking. Cable car going up was a nice ride. For those who are afraid of heights, this is not for you. After the cable car ride, you need to walk at least... More

Badaling is supposed to be the most touristic part of the Great Wall, However, if you manage to start on the right side (when you enter on the Great Wall, go on the left - most of the crowd wants to see Mao's rock on the left side) and walk for a while, you end up being the only person... More

It was great Seeing Greatwall! They said, this is the best of the greatwall. Badaling. Most tourist visits Badaling as this is the famous. I have nothing much to say about Greatwall as what you see in pictures is what you get. But the experience is the best! Experience of stepping and feeling the great wall is worthless. Just a... More
