We rode a motorbike out to here and walked through in about 30 mins. Really interesting architecturally and cool to see but not a really exciting attraction. One tour guide was inside the cave and was extremely friendly and very welcoming. Worth the short trip to see.

Cave hospital is not something you drive out of the way for. It's small and you have to pay around 10-20 thousand dong to go inside, but if your on a tour or simply riding around the island its a good chance to take a little break and see something different.

After a disappointing visit to the National Park, our guide took us to the Hospital Cave on Cat Ba Island. It was interesting to visit, but sadly I must say it is the only thing you can really visit on this island.

Unique experience seeing how people hid during the war. All the modern facilities in a natural cave. Glad we stopped there. We rented a scooter and drove there.b

A guide will take you into the old hospital which is inside a mountain. Is very interesting to here about how it was used and the caves themselves have many rooms and are impressively made. The old cinema room is giant!

I was impressive in the way Vietnam's shoulders fight for their freedom. They were good in your thinking of how to save their life

the history of the cave is interesting, that is it. You have to pay the cave-keeper 30000VND to get in (he will find you :))

Like most sites in Vietnam, nothing has been done to make a spectacle of this attraction, so it's still as it was etc but there's not a huge amount to see. THe guide was very good and we enjoyed hearing about how the hospital used to function and for the sake of £1 and 20 mins of your time it's... More

My husband and I declined a guide, as we assumed it wouldn't be essential. We were wrong - there was no leaflet and no information boards inside - they shouldn't let you in without one - it was literally a series of underground concrete rooms, one cave-like larger room, and that's it. It was in complete darkness (we got one... More

Loved the trip there via Honda. Staff v knowledgable and really interesting but could have killed him when he demonstrated how it was guarded by jumping out of dark pointing automatic weapon!
