We visited New Zealand for over 2 months and this kayak trip was one of the highlights. We hired kayaks and gear for an independent 2 day paddle with an overnight camp on spectacular Mutton Cove beach and a shuttle back to Golden Bay. We got all that plus Tony...fantastic chap, who took time to insure our safety and comfort with... More

A fantastic way to calmly and gently see the wonderful sights of Golden Bay. The guide (Tui) let us see things at our own pace and was hugely informative. Saw a seal, many birds and great views of the coast. This trip is a must do in the area with no experience needed either. Also loved the bonus of the... More

It started with happy greeting, good briefing and a solid kayak with all "mod cons". The Northern end of Able Tasman NP is much quieter and as beautiful. Had seals swim along the Kayak and climbed to Separation Point. A perfect day and service with a good New Zealand smile. Would recommend if you are in Golden Bay.

We did the Taupo Point overnight trip. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The briefing was detailed so that everyone felt comfortable with their equipment before leaving. Though it rained a lot of the first day, it was a remarkable trip, definitely worth the money we spent. The kayaks had so much storage, we even brought two camp chairs!... More

My wife and I, did a multi-day, one way, freedom rental with Golden Bay Kayaks. The training was great, the equipment was in decent condition, and the scenery was outstanding. Unfortunately, their pick up service was extremely poor. They arrived 25 mins late, even though we had sent them a message using the provided Spot Tracker saying that we had... More

We are a very small kayaking company and we are proud of the product we deliver. We value our clients and endevour to make sure each one has a safe and enjoyable experience in the magical Abel Tasman. We have twice emailed Amy and Ryan prior to this review to apologise for the experience they had with our casual driver... More

We started off complete beginners and after 4 hours felt we had achieved so much. A really unforgetable experience.

Tony and Lisa are great hosts and we had a fantastic guide in Paul. We rang late evening the night before and Tony was able to accommodate our party of 7. We did the half day guided tour and travelled from Nelson as part of a day trip. Most tours are in the mornings due to more favourable conditions but... More

We went on a half day guided tour. Our guide, Tui was excellent and very informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning, the coffee and cakes on the beach were most unexpected, but very welcome!

We have just returned from a 3 day Freedom trip and it has been one the highlights of our holiday in NZ. Neither of us had kyacked before but had good knowledge of the sea, tides and weather. The briefing was very thorough but fun And really good advice was given on how best to manage our trip. The trip... More
