August 26th 2012: We took off from Zurich mid morning and headed towards St Moritz which we reached by lunchtime. A quick bite then we headed up to the Bernina pass through the glorious Swiss countryside. Every twist a turn reveals a picture-postcard view to die for. We arrived in Italy at Tirano mid-afternoon and then headed for our stop... More

I have visited this attraction in August 2012. The morning train from Pontresina was full at the beginning however after the stop Bernina Diavolezza almost empty (its the highest point of the whole Bernina express train route - 2328m). During whole trip you will see beautiful mountains, magnificent lakes - primarily Lago Bianco and Lagh da Palü, unforgettable sceneries. My... More

A comfortable train takes you through the most beautiful mountain scenery imaginable. A discrete commentary gives enough information, the rest is up to you. It's not cheap, and the visibility can't be guaranteed - you have to accept what nature delivers. But the swiss railway SBB delivers an excellent travel/panorama product.

A fantastic train overpass with a very sharp turn. It is a must and a dream for train lovers, especially model railroad modelimg.

We took a number of rail journeys throughout Switzerland and the Bernina Pass was definitely my favourite. We travelled the 4 hour route from Chur to Tirano in a 1st class, Classic Pullman car. It didn't have the huge panorama windows of the other cars, but it was lovey, with comfy wing-backs, and only 1 chair per side. The Bernini... More

You can drive there as well, but we took the Bernina Express. Well worth the cost and time, it's a beautiful scenic train ride. Bernina Pass is a real "top of the world" place -- stark and beautiful.

The Bernina Pass is the highest part of the alps that the Bernina express train travels to. The views are wonderful. Though I would recommend pausing the journey at Alp Grun, rather than at the Bernina Pass.

Touring we saw the sign and thought "Well why not". Some times it was a little hairy with lorries overtaking where we felt that the Latin temperment was far into the lunatic mode. This little detour took us through some wonderfull and occasionally freightening scenario's but led us to the delightfull overnight stay at Hotel Suisse {See other review} Great... More

This road is beautiful.I rode up this "hill" .It was quite hard only flat sections are poshciavo and La Rosa .Absolutely stunning scenery . Thanks to the lovely swiss people,it is so clean -the way it should be. Going up you get to see and touch the donkeys, cows and goats and also stop to get water in mountain gorges .... More
