Fascinating church with lots of history. This is the 3rd time that I have visted it and I would go again. The icon of the Panaghia with all of its watches and jewellery adorning it was really special to see.

This is a lovely medieval church that is still in use. The interior is wonderful and the grounds have a very peaceful feeling about them.

sadly you witness the vandalism of old temples that took place all over the Cathedral's architecture, its foundations practically ancient pillars.

An incredible place, especially during the celebrations of Orthodox Easter, when all local people go to worship during one week. In Greece, Easter is more important than Christmas and, if you wish to attend this particular event, you should book your room in advance!

If Parikia is on your list, then so is this cathedral. Use the moment to slow down and savor the history. Sit, breathe, look around. Be sure to go out into the garden. There we met a local woman who asked if we knew the story of the building and took the time to show us a few relics and... More

I really liked the church as it has similar architecture with Hagia Sofia in Konstantinoupoli! However more free tours are needed to be organised from the church.

I liked the time travel that you experience when you enter this ancient church. It is very educational and it doesn't apply only to religious people. A lot to learn and appreciate at this sacred place.
