Good beach, near Arraial d'Ajuda. You can choose the best spot to stay. I recomend the Pitinga Mar, good food and good service right next to the beach. They have a good structure for children too.

If you are in this beach, walk your way to Flor de Sal "barraca" its a great beach barraca with great service, staff and food! is the last barraca on Pitingas beach.

Beware of bars wanting minimal consumption ..u can choose others without it .nice beach specially on low tide . on your way back u might b asked for 3 real each for bus ride back to town . if u have a car go with it.

Pitinga beach may be one of the nicest beaches around Arraial, but that depends on your mileage: The beginning is lined with some noisy bars, and during most times of the day there are lots of tourists around. Still, the background is made up by some impressing red cliffs.
If you prefer peace, take a little walk in the direction...

clean, warm water...few waves, especially when tide is low. Great soft sand beach for morning and sunset strolls. Fun to watch vendors walking by offering everything from cooked corn on the cob to horseback rides. Lots of beachfront cafes for music, snacks.
