Giant Sequoia trees dominate this part of Yosemite; not to be mistaken with Sequoia National Park, they are two separate entities. We arrived in the park early enough so we could not check into our hotel, we decided to go see the first stop on our map. We drove into the park after purchasing our annual pass, the grove is...

The atmosphere is so tranquil and relaxing. The giant sequoias are so very impressive. A very special place to walk.
We hiked the lower loop and totally enjoyed the experience. The trees are magnificent. We went around 9:00 in the morning and relished the tranquility as there were very few tourists. We went on our own and found it very manageable.
I could not walk the entire grove so we took the tram which was very informative. Mother nature out did herself here! One cannot imagine the size of the giant trees, nor the beauty held within this grove without seeing for oneself. The tram ride was quite expensive @ $29 for adults for 1 1/4 hours. Unfortunately only a handful...

Wow, these trees are something else, the Telescope Tree is totally hollow and you can look right up through it and yet it's still alive! Old Grizzly was HUGE and the Clothespin was another amazing tree. It's all uphill to the museum so be prepared for a workout.
The tram was very expensive but you did get N audio tour....

Do yourself a favour just walk up the sealed road to the info and dunny at the top of the hill. Better than the 25 dollar bus ride and much easier with better scenery than the walk trail through all the dead trees ! This is one of the most amazing forests in the world how these giants can live...

Great to see Sequoias this far north. It is not Sequoia National Park but great to see these trees within 90 minutes of Yosemite Valley.
Take the tram tour its hands down worth it. It's not too long and you get to see so much of the area. Be prepared for all weather. We had to park town below and take a shuttle bus to the top. The temperature change was surprising, even to a Canadian that loves winter. I was a bit skeptical of...

Our first stop to Yosemite and what a great place to start. These trees are amazing and it's hard to believe how long they've been around. Make sure you visit the tunnel tree after the Grizzly Giant.
