We were a little underwhelmed by this whole area. We were born and raised in NJ, so when we're thinking beach, this isn't it. And you're so close to the road! It was nice, but just meh.

Some rocky areas out in the water, so you have to look for sandy bottomed places along the wide span. Very enjoyable to walk along for the views and people watching. Lots of people, but not really crowded when we were there the 2nd week of May. Gorgeous with magnificent sunsets.
Always busy with interesting activity and located in the heart of Honolulu. We had pretty much perfect weather so it made everything look attractive. Everything about the beach and surrounding area is fun.
You get to see two things the tall buildings and a great beach. This place can get very crowded too but I would recommend doing this in at Friday afternoon to have fun at the beach then walk to away from the shopping center to the end of the beach where you find parking lots from there in the night...

This beach can get very crowded. However, it is so far the most beautful beach I have seen, with blue water, blue sky, it worths a visit in your life.
Yes, it's touristy, but that's the point. Lots to do, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village has a lot to offer in terms of food and entertainment.
PROS:
- Lots of places to take a dip in the warm water. I went here at 11pm and had a wonderful swim in the moonlight in front of the Hilton Hawaiian village. It's...

I spent many hours relaxing on the beach. I saw there are many things for everyone to do. from boat rides, sun bathe, swim, a great clean beach that has something for everyone of all ages
We loved walking up and down - very long and the beach parts in some areas is very small. A very clean beach with a lot of respect.
Nice enough beach but very busy it's not a big beach but fair few things going on surfing, boats the usual. Lots of places to get a drink and eat (dukes is a must) it's not the prettiest beach but has a great back drop of diamond head.
Yes this beach is a cliche of everything you hear about Waikiki, but who cares it's alot of fun. You can just relax by the beach and watch the watersports or do them. The setting of this beach is stunning.
