My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the morning we spent at this museum. The Girard collection is amazing! We also loved the Amish quilts. They're setting up for a kite display now and we plan on coming back to see it later this year. We would have liked to see more interactive exhibits. There was one computer set up to... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the Folk Art Museum and spent a great afternoon there, going back out to the car for my camera as photos are permitted. An amazing collection of "milagros" from myriad countries and cultures. As this is an international museum, it was a nice change of pace from traditional "Santa Fe" galleries, museums. The Amish Quilt exhibit was... More

There are not sufficient words to describe this museum, located at Museum Hill, outside downtown Santa Fe. It has wonderful rotating exhibitions of folk art from around the world so check the schedule - but it is always worth a visit to walk through Girard Foundation permanent exhibition. Girard was a textile designer from NYC, who designed for Herman Miller,... More

The regular craft and toy exhibits are always charming and fun. This time I also saw a quilt exhibit, and one about the history of chocolate and it's importance in New Mexico and Mexico.

Great spot on top of "museum hill". I could have spent longer here but hubby wasn't as amused as I was with the collection of folk art figurines. Some amazing things here, enjoyed the Amish quilt display too.

This museum will appeal to all ages. I can't even describe it b/c it is so different from any other museum. It houses a collection donated by Irving (?) Girard that consists of over 100,000 (many tiny) pieces. Fascinating.

This is a large display of American and International folk art. It is in a newer building located near the top of Museum Hill. It is often a stop on the local trolley tours or you can drive to Museum Hill via Canyon Road. I love this place and send hours viewing the displays and enjoying the beauty of the... More

Loved the Neutragena wing, with the little figurines depicting life in different cultures. Other areas were closed. Also an interactive room depicting how aids has effected lives around the globe

The collection of folk art was extensive and well displayed. The miniature circus collection was amazing as well as the towns. It was a little difficult to follow the guide as the sequence of the displays did not seem to follow a logical order.
