Saw the new Star Trek movie. I have to say, even with a large group of high school kids there, it was a very pleasurable experience
You have to watch the Alamo movie before you go to the Alamo, it was awesome, and im not into history1 My whole family loved it and when we went to the Alamo we could connect with what we had watched!
This is a fantastic introduction to the Alamo. The quality of the film and stereo sound is exceptional, with interesting Alamo artifacts in the lobby and gift store too. The kids really loved this movie, as did my husband and I. This movie made the Alamo so much more interesting and meaningful to the kids, as they had a better... More
We went to see Star Trek: Into Darkness on a recent Sunday afternoon. For the first 10 minutes of the film, the dialog was completely drowned out by the music track. Then both dialog and the music track went dead, and then it was possible to make out most of the dialog if one listened carefully. Maybe this was rare... More
While on the Riverwalk, we decided we wanted to see the new Tom Cruise move just released.... so we walked to the IMAX, left our two 20-somthing daughters shoppin in the mall where the IMAX is located, and we enjoyed the movie! Then we just walked back to the Riverwalk, walking right past the Alamo we had visited earlier that... More
We enjoyed the Alamo IMAX show, however I liked the Disney version better. It is good to review the history of the Alamo before touring the grounds. The theater will provide authorization for 3 hours of free parking at the Rivercenter parking garage (we did not know that and paid $5 to park 3 hours)
We took the advice we'd seen on seeing the movie first and were glad we did. It isn't very lo g, about 45 mi uses but it gives you a good overview of the history behind the Alamo and the importance of the battle to the state of Texas.
Poorly acted and historically questionable this movie was a big disappointment. The only thing going for it is the IMAX format ( and even that is not much). It may be a good outing for a school field trip but families on vacation can skip this. Even with discount coupons, the price for a family is not worth it. For... More
This 42 minute movie was a definite plus to go and see BEFORE you actually visit the Alamo historic site. I printed a coupon from the Internet that reduced the cost of admission to the movie. Both the IMAX theater and Alamo are within easy walking distance of each other and the other tourist attractions anyone might wish to visit... More
Not that the Alamo needs much help. I grew up in Texas, so the story of the Alamo is like air and water to me. I have it all imprinted on my heart. I don't need to go to the Imax - but I do anyway. If you're not a Texan, then you should go before you visit the Alamo.... More
