We took the advice we'd seen on seeing the movie first and were glad we did. It isn't very lo g, about 45 mi uses but it gives you a good overview of the history behind the Alamo and the importance of the battle to the state of Texas.

Poorly acted and historically questionable this movie was a big disappointment. The only thing going for it is the IMAX format ( and even that is not much). It may be a good outing for a school field trip but families on vacation can skip this. Even with discount coupons, the price for a family is not worth it. For...

This 42 minute movie was a definite plus to go and see BEFORE you actually visit the Alamo historic site. I printed a coupon from the Internet that reduced the cost of admission to the movie. Both the IMAX theater and Alamo are within easy walking distance of each other and the other tourist attractions anyone might wish to visit...

Not that the Alamo needs much help. I grew up in Texas, so the story of the Alamo is like air and water to me. I have it all imprinted on my heart. I don't need to go to the Imax - but I do anyway. If you're not a Texan, then you should go before you visit the Alamo....

A must-see movie whether before or after you visit the Alamo. Brings it all to life. Shows the battles around the Alamo. Tells the story as it happened. Realistic.
An interesting thing to do - tells story of what went on at the Alamo so you will understand more about it when you visit!
We went and saw the movie about the Alamo. The movie was interesting but only lasted 454 minutes. With that said, the price of admission is not worth it. It was $10 for an adult ticket. TIP: I am not sure I would really recommend this attraction to anyone, particularly if you are watching your money.
I visited San Antonio with my 13 yr old daughter a few weeks ago, and the concierge at our hotel mentioned that the IMAX theater was worth a visit - if not for the film, for the 3 hours of free parking at the Rivercenter Mall. She was right. The movie was a great history lesson, and a timely one,...

Our family is from Canada and only one of us had a bit of knowledge of the early history of Texas and the Alamo. We decided to see the IMAX movie before touring the Alamo as recommended on Tripadvisor ratings. We are glad we did as we absorbed so much more from our tour of the Alamo. It was worth...

It's OK. But: If you're going to the Alamo, they have a free 20-minute video that's quite good. This film doesn't add much to that free video and you can save about $11/ticket.
