It is not a museum. It's a poor reenactment of a witch trial and then a walk through a fake dungeon with terrible dioramas..... The only saving grace was our tour guide.... A pleasant and informative young woman. Over all we were disappointed with the touristy feel of this .... Money captured and very poor value .

Concur with the other reviews. informational reenactment of a trial followed by a trip to the basement. If they put 2 or three of these small attractions together they would have something.

Even little children were not impressed with this cheap show. Although I live in the Boston afrea I'm unhappy that the Salem "witch" area is not demonstared better. A little more thought - please!

They do a reenactment of a Salem witch trial and then take you down into the dungeon. The reenactment is informative. The dungeon is a replica. My friend's 9 yr old was with us and was a little scared but he did ok. The employees are super nice.

As other reviewers have said, this is not really a museum per se. It is quite entertaining though. From the opening dramatic reenactment to the dungeon tour, you will learn a lot of fun facts here. More importantly, this is one of the best places to get ridiculous pictures! Oh, and make sure you touch the beam for good luck.

I took the train from Boston to spend a day in Salem. The Witch Dungeon Museum is not a traditional museum (think more along the lines of actors and wax figures, with some historical information sprinkled in). There is a reenactment of the trials by live actors and a tour of the dungeon. You can purchase discounted tickets if you... More

Yes it's touristy and especially during the halloween season. But it is just downright fun and you will learn about the history of Salem in the process. Go.

The first note should be that this is not a museum, not like you might be thinking. Your visit, of course, starts in the gift shop and then you are taken into an church sanctuary where there are plaques around the wall displaying facts about the witch trials. It is nice (and historically accurate) that the Witch Dungeon would speculate... More

Probably one of the better ways to get some nsight into the Witch Trials - different and informative. Museum provides an interesting story of the Trials and has various phsical objects used during them. Hear the words of the prosecutors and the accusers and the accused and imagine yourself as a front row witness to the events.
