This was the 2nd horseback ride we took our 7 y/o son on. After having had a bad experience in Leadville we were wary of doing this again, but were very happy we did. My son was originally given his own horse to ride, a smaller pony who was well behaved. I had requested that the guide keep our sons... More

We went on the evening ride and steak dinner and had a great time! It was just what I expected from a trail ride. There were great views and the horses were really sweet. The steak dinner was an awesome little BBQ with a cowboy playing his guitar while we ate. It was really a fun fun time for me... More

As far as a horseback ride goes it was a joke. First off the office smelled like a cheech and Ching movie looked. Wranglers were cursing, the management did nothing but yell and smoke cigarettes. The horses were skinny and not very well groomed at all. They plugged along for ride the wranglers were ok at best. The trail was... More

Bought a ride on living social, big mistake. We walked in the office to check in and the smell of marijuana was over powering so I hurried my children out of there. Walked over to the horses waiting for our ride to start. Horses were thin, unkept and by their looks very over worked. The place is a mess. By... More

We purchased a groupon to ride, we are close to Estes and my daughter really wanted to try it out. The wranglers were very friendly and nice and were great with my 3 kiddos. The place itself is run down and there was no public restroom. I did use a restroom there but it was in the 'staff' living area.... More

After reading the reviews, I was slightly apprehensive about purchasing the Groupon offer, but I'm glad I did! Our group was rather large, I had called just the previous day to see if it would be possible to squeeze in a ride while I was in town and this particular ride was the only option. There was a little confusion... More

We went on a ride with estes park horseback stables. I am familiar with the place from many years ago when it was the Elkhorn Stables. There is great history there but none of the wranglers knew anything about the place, sad. The stables are old, sad and tired. The horses were safe and healthy but they were old, tired... More

My name is allie, i am one of the wranglers working for O'dell Stables at the Elkhorn Lodge. Every morning each wrangler brushes every single horse, and once a month we clean and polish our sadles and fit them to the proper horses. Tords the end of winter horses shed their coats, and the sadles rub the loose hair and... More

It's annoying to read horrific reviews about a stable that has its place in Estes. There is nothing touristy or glamorous about real horseback riding. The staff was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their job. They ensured the safety of the customers. The only thing I would suggest is booking rides further apart so horses can rest and groups aren't waiting... More

I took my family horseback riding in Estes Park and it was a great time. The guides were very nice, the staff were accommodating and the scenery is unparalleled. Estes Park is simply one of the most incredible natural areas there is. While we were waiting for our ride to start a herd of Elk just kind of roamed through... More

Bought this through Groupon for my daughter for an christmas present. Picked a gorgeous day to go on a ride. The drive up to Estes Park is stunning, with beautiful views of the snow capped mountains. I was a little apprehensive at first with the appearance of the lodge. It is run down and in need of repairs. The office... More
