Educational fun place to occupy the children during the day during the international balloon festival. Kids enjoyed the ballooning related activities

May 26 2013. The International Balloon Museum in Albuquerque NM is a great place to learn about the history and science of hot air and gas ballooning and lighter than air flight. Also hang gliding and para gliding. Admission is $4 adult ($3 NM residents), but on my Sunday morning visit it was free. There were many interesting and educational... More

Just a good place to go to get the history of ballooning and how it came into being in Albuquerque. Lots of info, beautiful area were it is located, I believe there is more info still to be included there but it works to give the visitor the info that the musuem is based on.

We happened to come across this place unexpectedly. It is extremely interesting even if you do not have an interest in Balloons....We would recommend it to any one.

This museum is located right next to the Balloon Festival fields in a great building. The exhibits give a good look at the history of ballooning, an explanation of the different types of balloons and information about the balloon races. The docents were great, friendly and informative. The museum was busy - with a storyhour going on as well as... More

We enjoyed this museum, although I only wish there were more to see as far as the exhibits are concerned. A lot of wide open space in the museum, and not enough things to see to justify the admission price.

The entrance fee was 2$ per person. Money well spent! The museum gives an excellent overview from the very first beginnings of balloon rides to the record flights over the Atlantic, Pacific and around the world. Even the latest record ascent and skydive decent (Felix Baumgartner) is not missing. You will learn how ballooning works in the first place. Then... More

This is a smaller museum, but it is filled with interesting facts about hot air ballooning. It is a great stop before you actually take a hot air balloon ride.

First of all, even the outside of the museum is interesting. The design is very clever, and walking into the museum is like walking into a different world. Everything is so well laid out and explained. Lots of stuff for the little and big ones to have hands on experiences. Also, there are rooms for rent on the top floor... More

Amazing exhibits of the earliest balloon flights and up to present day flights. Very unusual museum and we learned so much. I would definitely recommend a visit to this museum the day before you do your own balloon ride.
