around the rocks right beside the hotel on this beach is some of the best snorkeling, lots of turtles! A big beach and on Sundays the locals come down with their guitars and you get music while you sunbathe.

This beach is great for everybody. It is beautiful first and foremost, but there is much to do. Snorkeling can be pretty fantastic. The paddle boarding can be pretty decent here as well. It is a nice sand bottomed beach for the little ones to play in the surf. There are also some amazing tidepools to explore. And, there are...

This is a fabulous beach, with a range of swimming areas for kiddie paddling, snorkelling, length swimming or just playing in the waves. Enjoy watching the turtles as they swim alongside you :) Keawakapu is a long stretch of sandy beach with wonderful ocean access. Nearby parking at both ends of the beach and a couple of restaurants to enjoy...

We came across this beach on our last day we were leaving! After a disappointing visit at Big Beach in Wailea (rough waves), we were relieved to find this one. The late morning waves were calm enough to have children in the water and sunbathers on floatiation beds. There are showers. Also the rocks provided perfect shading for my mominlaw...

This beach is large and long and far enough from the commercial centre of Kihei to be relatively uncrowded, though the crowds have been growing in recent years. Wave action is very good and usually pretty safe, but there are some large rocks along the shore to watch for. Of course, one must always be responsible for their own safety...

We stayed at the Days Inn for a few days in March and were so happy to find this lovely beach. It was never crowded and the snorkeling was wonderful. I even swam with a turtle. The whales were swimming right off the shore and making quite a display by smacking their huge tales on the water to attract females....

We love this beach- it is perfect for young children for sandcastle building and swimming. It is great for older children who like to boogie board or snorkel. We always see turtles when we snorkel by the reef. This beach is a must do for young families.
This is a wonderful beach at the South End of Kihei as you enter Wailea. Good parking stalls, showers, rest rooms and beach access. Excellent place for nightly sunset viewing. Enjoy yourself, this is paradise.
This beach is beautiful. It's easy to access and quite a bit of parking. We went with our small children (ages 4 and 15 month) at 8:30 in the morning and it was already surprisingly busy. The waves were very gentle, and the swimming was great. The water was clear and had a sandy bottom (although some parts of the...

Keawakapu Beach is a great place to take small children. The waves are small enough to allow the kids in and the people on the beach all seem to respect each other's space, but be warned, the day we were there two pit-bulls, which are common on Hawaii beaches unleashed, got into a death match, very disturbing to kids around...
