The Vachel Lindsay House in Springfield, IL is a beautifully restored home with some wonderful things to see. I was greatly impressed with the tour from the docent and as it's only a recommended donation, you can pay what you want. I highly recommend this house on your sights in Springfield, IL.

If you are "into" Vachel Lindsay this is the place to go, otherwise it is a nice home tour. The home is period and that makes it worth seeing, but it isn't really "exciting". The docents are great! They hold other events there, art shows, photo shows, and that makes it worth going!

This house will interest anyone who likes mid-western poetry in general. It is a modest house in the city.

My friend and I took our Girl Scout troop here while we waited for the Executive Mansion to open. Thank you to the gardener from the Executive Mansion as we learned new things and found a hidden treasure. The house is locked, however a simple ring on the doorbell gains you admittance. The woodwork and furnishings are beautiful and well... More

Building well preserved. The tour guide was well informed on Vachel, his family, and literature.
