The crew and experience far exceeded my high expectations of our wildlife tour. I was visiting Seward on a suggestion from a friend and couldn't have been happier with what we received from Captain Tanya and First mate Kara. We felt like we were hanging out with friends for hours on a private boat tour of Kenai Fjords National Park.... More

Had a fabulous day with Captain Tanya and mate/biologist Cara in Kenai Fjords today. The boat had only 6 passengers but had room for several more. We were lucky with clear and calm weather. The captain and crew were great at spotting humpback whales, mountain goats, Dall porpoises, puffins, eagles, sea otters, Orcas, as well as navigating through ice to... More

Great trip with great people. Even on a chilly overcast day the crew made everyone feel comfortable. Incredible views of Holgate and Surprise Glacier. We saw a humpback whale, some small porpoises with orca markings (can't remember the name), harbour seals, stellar sea lions, puffins, sea otters and various other sea birds. The food was great, and having hot drinks... More

My husband and I visited Alaska with the express purpose of seeing wildlife and lovely scenery. I planned our trip with Alaska Saltwater Lodge because unobstucted views for photography were important to us and we did not want to feel part of a huge crowd. We were very pleased with the size of the tour and personalized service we received... More

I visited Alaska in 2010 having never been before. My friends and I wated to go on a whale watching tour but weren't keen on the larger boats as we imagined we'd be fighting for space to see the wildlife. We went with Saltwater Lodge following TripAdvisor ratings and I am so glad we did. We had the best trip!... More

The small boat option is the best way to go in my opinion. The boat holds 20 or so but we were a small group of 6 which was even better. The skipper Laif was very friendly and knowledgable, passing on interesting stories. Snacks and hot cocoa always on the ready for you. But what everyone comes for is the... More

A wonderful trip = one couple were late having put their car in a ditch - no probelm we left late (having waited for them) and we arrived back late - as they still gave us the full monty tour To get so close and have just a few of you watching makes the wildlife stick around. Mind you the... More

We were very happy we spent the extra money for the small group boat tour. I would only do the all day tour, not a shortened one that does not leave Resurrection Bay. We saw lots of marine wild life, including humpback whales, and close up view of Northwestern Glacier. Leif made sure that we saw all the wildlife possible,... More

On August 10th, 2011 we had the pleasure of going out with Captain Tanya and First Mate Kendra, to view wildlife near Seward Alaska and Holgate Glacier. Weather was gorgeous, boat accommodating, and the widlife was amazing- saw humpback whales, puffins, Dall's porpoises racing the bow of the boat, sea lions, adorable otters, seals, bald eagles, incredibly beautiful scenery and... We picked this boat based off the several great reports on Trip Advisor. I’m sure there are opportunities to have a great time on this boat. It just wasn’t anything special for the particular day we were there. The first issue I had was that the boat had 17 passengers (not including captain and deckhand) which exceeded the websites promise... More
