Easy access and frequented by many, the white sand is amazing. Decent place for boogie boards and snorkeling is good(saw one turtle). Personally more variety of fish at beach 69. Lots of coral avail to the north for use of graffiti on volcanic rock.

Beautiful beach with soft white sand. This one is really worth a visit. No shade though, so pack on the sunscreen and/or bring an umbrella
This beach itself is really pretty. We went on a monday and it was slightly crowded. From what I could tell, a lot of locals visit this beach. The sand is soft & white and the ocean is a beautiful turquoise. When we arrived at the beach, there were 6 dolphins swimming off in the distance, not <too> far from the...

This was probably our favorite beach on the big island, it's just as beautiful as Hapuna, just smaller, and not much shade. But the parking is free (it opens at 9 btw) and the water might actually be a little clearer than Hapuna. We actually lucked out and there happened to be a pod of 6 dolphins swimming by about...

This is our go-to beach for sunning and absolutely beautiful, picture-perfect white sand and turquoise water. This is a "movie" beach to me, just perfect. Only issue here is no shade at all, so if you are a bit pale like myself, make sure to lather on the sunscreen! Easy parking, easy access, showers, close to Kona. Only beach that...

Just beautiful beach and easy accessible, 20 minutes far away from Kona by car.
If you like to hike, reach the state park at the Four Seasons Hotel (most beautiful hotel on Big Island). Go one north side of the beach and take the "trail" trought the lava but on sea side ! It's about 30 minutes hike ! You...

On my favorite Hawaiian island, great beaches are hard to find. This beach is awesome. It is a Mini Hapuna ( possibly our favorite beach in the world ). No reef shoes needed here. Despite what people say, by parking standards at most other beaches in HI, the parking along the sides of the road is a piece of cake,...

Nothing wrong with the beach, it is beautiful but a bit wavier than others. A bit of a rocky path to the beach with some interesting areas to explore right around where the beach is to see shells, tide pools and some wildlife.
Just be aware that because this beach is closer to Kailuea Kona it tends to attract more...

People warned us that this beach would be hard to find but after, a couple of missteps, we made it. The earlier you go, the less crowded it will be. The water is spectacular and the beach is incredibly beautiful. The surf is no joke, though. After speaking with some locals, i found out that there are a number on...

The most beautiful beach with a short drive from Kona. Parking is always a challenge but worth the walk if you need to park up the hill a way
