Students from USD comprise a great deal of the staff here, but people come from around the country to work at this nice little theatre in the woods during the summer. The plays are entertaining, but half the fun is the drive up there thrum Custer State Park.

I've been to theater in London, New York City and other cities and I am always amazed by the high caliber of theater at the Black Hills Playhouse. I have seen dozens of productions over 35 years of attendance...it is my favorite place to see a play.

We took our kids (2 ten year old boys) to "Lend Me a Tenor" this summer. It was very well staged and the theater is comfortable and well designed, with good seats throughout. I highly recommend an evening at the Playhouse as part of a family camping adventure.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was an excellent production at the playhouse. We also went to see Lend Me a Tenor earlier in the season. The entire staff made the experience enjoyable from the parking attendants to the manager and director. Wonderful summer theater!
