My "average" rating isn't bad. It is the same as any IMAX. You can catch a local movie about the area there sometimes, which would be worth it.
We saw the IMAX 3-D film about Great White Sharks and thought the experience was outstanding. The theater was very clean, the staff was friendly and seats were comfortable. The film was educational and the graphics were excellent. At times the sea life seemed so close and real. We highly recommend this activity while in New Orleans.
..was not the first movie we´ve seen but the best. The image was so overwhelming that we bursted into tears but also learned a lot about the wetlands and its important role in the eco system. The music was so inspiring that we looked for the artists playing live in New Orleans - and they do as they are local... More
We were fortunate to catch the "Hurricane on the Bayou" - a terrific flick about Hurricane Katrina and its impact on New Orleans. The message of the movie is to inform everyone that the wetlands are depleting and that we need to fix that in order to preserve a buffer between the Gulf and NO. The theatre was a busy... More
We did the iMax as part of the package. The IMAX is right next door to the aquarium . We saw hurricane which was more about the wetlands but still a moving and informative documentary . Just enough to get the kids interested but not scare them (my girls are 9).
With my Audubon membership, we were able to get tickets to all the movies for $5/movie/person. Today we saw To The Arctic and Great White Shark. They were both very good and I couldn't say which was my favorite. My teens would say Great White Shark, but they loved both movies like I did. You can't go wrong with any... More
Saw the movie hurricane on the bayou which was worth it in Imax. The movie was a bit short for the money I paid but visually stunning. Average Imax theatre, have seen better ones.
Got tricked into seeing Hurricane on the Bayou which should have been more aptly named "Save the Wetlands". If your looking for a movie about an actual hurricane you are wasting your time and money. This movie is actually a 45 minute documentary/public service announcement on climate change and the erosion of the wetlands with about 30 seconds of hurricane... More
As part of a package dealwith the Zoo, Aquarium & Insectarium, this is the only movie theater we ever go to. Each year they feature a 3 movie choice & the 3D effects are amazing,
