White visiting New Orleans, one has to get out on the Mississippi River and experience a steamboat cruise. During my recent trip to New Orleans, I took the afternoon two hour tour which I really enjoyed. The boat is bigger than I expected and they cram quite a few people on board, but there was plenty of room to find... More

I really enjoyed riding the steamboat. The Dixie music was very good. The food was excellent and the alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced. Thanks for a great time!

Jazz band on board was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the music. Food mediocre, two sittings so you had to eat early before the boat sailed or wait until later. Weather was dreadful so everyone and band had to stay in dining room, but there were really not enough seats once you had eaten to sit and listen to the band. Usually... More

The lunch cruise was fantastic. The narration gave us a history of the port of New Orleans and its workings. Also the food and entertainment was great as well. Definitely try the Bloody Mary or any of the uniquely New Orleans cocktails.

Thoroughly enjoyed the daytime jazz cruise along the river. We opted for the lunch option which gives a sampling of Louisiana fare. Go for the second aeating, as the first is dreadfully busy. On the way down the river a narrator gave us extremely interesting facts about New Orleans and steamships in general. Once we reached the halfway point we... More

Took the lunch cruise which was fine with a great Dixieland band until the halfway point. It was announced for the return trip we would have Opera.....We booked mostly to hear Dixieland and Jazz on our first trip to New Orleans, not Opera, and would not have booked had we have known. I think we should have been told when... More

We opted for no food on our cruise, but were disappointed when we departed, to find out only those eating, get to listen to the jazz. Well, we were undaunted and enjoyed the beautiful Sunday afternoon on the river. We are from Minnesota, where the Mississippi River is considerably cleaner. But hey that is because we are near the mouth... More

We took the jazz cruise with dinner. It was very expensive compared to a dinner at a jazz theme restaurant with a live band. The boat is nice if you are bringing kids who want to see the paddlewheel but if you are looking for a nice river cruise just catch the car ferry down river and backup for free.
