I was surprised at how lovely this zoo is and how large the area is! Best of all, it's free! A nice visit and very well maintained.

What a great gem of a zoo for being donation only! It is a smaller zoo and yet they still have wonderful and happy looking animals. It provided our family of 5 with a few hours of being out and having fun.

It was a nice day and was a great day to pay a visit to the zoo! I haven't been a regular visitor so a lot of things were new and different for me. There were many younger families out and even though not everything is open there were lots of things to see and do, even the polar bears... More

It's always fun to go to the zoo, and when its free, why not? Take your family, take some friends and just be outside with the animals.

This is not a destination zoo, but if you happen to be in Madison, this free zoo and park offer a nice outing for a day of relaxation and connecting with nature. Some new, but not yet open, exhibits will soon add interest and quality. The zoo is small, so 2-4 hours will take you all the way through. The facility, grounds,... More

Pleasantly surprised by the variety of creatures and their living conditions in this free zoo. Nicely done Madison! Be sure to donate if you visit.

A pleasant zoo with great animal exhibits. Lots of signs with information about each animal. Also signs around with general animal facts. I had no children, but the kids area looked like lots of fun too. And on top of that, free! Well worth the visit.

When I think of a free zoo, I think of Lincoln Zoo in Chicago. This zoo is a huge surprise, I loved how cleanly it was kept, and how big it was for being a free zoo. The animals you could tell were well cared for and seeing all the upgrades they were completing at the time was amazing!

You can't beat a free zoo!! I love the Madison zoo! My kids enjoy it also, there is a lot to see in the zoo and its always so much fun. The parking isn't the best and there usually isn't any spots available in their lot so you may have to walk a block or two. We always bring along... More

This is not the Milwaukee County Zoo but it also doesn't require a mortgage to access. If you are in Madison, this is a must place stop. Plan for 2-3 hours. Not a whole day required- another plus with so much else to do in the city.
